"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." Groucho Marx (thanks, dad:)

Hi all! I've been asked what some of our favorite things to read are. I have to give props to Kate (Jackson of blogland's mom) for her list of books for small ones. L. still loves most of the books she mentions. (Anything Eric Carle is grand in our house.) To add to that list, we love anything Berenstain Bears, Little Critter, Charlie & Lola (Clarice Bean is a little weird), Fancy Nancy (Mel, Daisy would love these), Olivia (all things Ian Falconer), Knuffle Bunny (all things Mo Willems) for our series set. We also give love to Punk Farm, The Jolly Postman, & There's a Mouse About the House for just plain interactive fun. Then, there are the "learning books," such as Everyone Poops & Happy Birth Day. These are my personal fav (out of the tons that we read on potty training & new babies. Mr. Rogers has a good book on siblings. I can't remember the title exactly. Oh! And let us not forget the "classics"...In the Night Kitchen(be warned there is a artistic full frontal of a little boy) & Where the Wild Things Are.We also read all things Sesame Street & Dr. Seuss. Weekly, we choose things on animals, exercise, reptiles, or other fun topics with "real" pix & info. That's fun, too. One Seed is a good "first science" book. Well, I guess that's all I can think of for the moment. ;) Here are a few pix of L's "lion art" & "stick people" today. I scrapbooked one page & made a "Happy 5 years" card for my hubby while L. went wild with art. Enjoy!
