We had tons of local, organic, tart apples a few weeks ago. I thought "what can I do with all these?" And...many an hour later...here she is! Miss Apple Pie 2008. She's a "beaut." (The hours thing is bc I had both kids with me & cooked supper while I made the pie. Whew.)

First and foremost I want to say how great that pie looks. Secondly I need to tell you that you have the CUTEST little girl that I have ever seen. I love the blogs!!
Mmmmm. I was about to make a pie yesterday, and then chickened out b/c my favorite pie crust recipe ever has 1 cup of shortening. I just couldn't do it. But maybe I'll succumb as the holidays get closer.
